PBS, Vanessa Williams’ Black National Anthem LGBT, Juneteenth Capitol Fourth Was A Flop!

I really enjoy watching on TV the holiday events at our nation’s capitol. Under President Trump, we enjoyed spectacular patriotic programs done with class.
However, as this year’s PBS Annual Capitol Fourth program unfolded, it was clear that this would be different…..very different. Even the host’s outfit – though likely quite expensive – was drab. Her gown for her solo performance was colorful but tasteless.
The lyrics of many of the songs by various groups were a strange fare for the celebration of this nation’s independence from Great Britain. In a thinly disguised reference to LGBT, Kermit the Frog sang about the rainbow and its connection to “lovers, dreamers, and me.”
The highlight of the evening was the traditional rendition of the Star Spangled Banner by Grammy award winner and opera super star, Renee Fleming who is always a picture of elegance and class.
Host Vanessa Williams, the first black woman to win the Miss America Pageant, slammed America with her veiled reference to slavery. Never mind that slavery has existed, and still does, in every civilization on earth. Never mind that it was 17th century Christians who attacked slavery’s immorality or that the United States is ranked as one of the top nations in the world for fighting slavery, the slave trade, and human trafficking.
Williams concluded the program with the ‘black national anthem’ – “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Responding to angry backlash from conservatives, PBS and Williams explained that the performance was to celebrate the recognition of Juneteenth as a federal holiday.
With the passage of the holiday bill, Congress has created more national debt and put the American taxpayers on the hook for $600 million every single year, forever, to give federal workers still another paid holiday.
Democrats don’t care about facts – such as slaves were not freed on June 19. The new federal holiday celebrates a lie but it promotes the Marxist racist propaganda and offers another extravagant entitlement to create big government dependency.
Juneteenth is a reference to June 19, 1865 when Union forces arrived in Galveston, Texas and declared that the Emancipation Proclamation had freed slaves in Texas. Juneteenth was initially celebrated in Texas but now is recognized in 45 states and the District of Columbia. For what?
Under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution, Washington, D.C. and the territories were the only jurisdictions under federal authority. The slaves in D.C. were freed by an act of Congress on April 16, 1862 and slaves in U.S. territories were freed on June 17, 1862. This was prior to the Emancipation Proclamation.
Because President Abraham Lincoln had no constitutional authority to free slaves, his Proclamation also could not free a single slave. Even the document states that it was a war measure. The executive order provided a moral justification for Lincoln’s blatant war of aggression against the South so that foreign nations would continue their economic ties with the North and not the South.
Slavery legally ended, not on June 19, 1865 but with the ratification of the Thirteenth Amendment on December 6, 1865. Therefore, December 6 is legally Emancipation Day but then we don’t celebrate Constitutional amendments dates. Juneteenth is another Marxist opportunity to keep the slavery propaganda at the forefront and suck in more government dependents.
Past July 4th celebrations at our Capitol have been patriotic, uplifting, and beautiful. This year PBS and the event organizers took a left turn and handed us a boring, lackluster program. Needless to say, I won’t be watching future PBS Capitol Fourths or any other PBS program for that matter.
It's time for the American people to demand cancel culture for this left wing taxpayer funded organization.
